We only hear distant drums on our stretch about three hours in. Did the procession move on past us, or is it winding down. Not drums quieter as a mid-parade cue, and not counting elephants as a proxy.

Distant drums usually mean the dense block moved along the route, not that First Randoli ended. Walk toward sound on outer pavement if you still want a view, or treat the quiet as your exit gift if the group is done.

Quiet plus distant sound is a classic gap — wait a few minutes before calling it a wrap.

Ask the hotel watcher what the live framing shows before you invent an end.
