21 Aug, elder plus one, one stick, ordinary bags. Path looks like a mud chute. Driver wants a tour number. Day bags, not suitcases.

Pay a short hop if the path is slick and you have a kid. Walk if you have grip and the rain has stopped. Knee-deep, no inflatables past the first break; the bar does not write flags. Do not pay a tour number for a ten-minute hill. Agree the fare before you sit.

Ask two locals near Unawatuna shallows with a toddler. The first number about shallows is a test, not a fee I will invent.

We took the quieter fork toward flag pole. Fine. No one clapped.

Elder move: plate, shade, then decide. Unawatuna shallows with a toddler will still be there. Shade before pride.
