Pedlar bakery queue versus Dutch Hospital terrace in this heat — sit with locals or pay the fan

Need shade, heat caution, kid melting. Dutch Hospital is five metres and priced like Colombo. Pedlar has a queue of locals and plastic chairs. Not trying to be cheap for sport. Trying not to be the rude table that occupies a terrace for a 900-rupee feeling.

Walk two lanes if they can. Pay the soda if the kid is melting now. Shade is the need, not the brand. Dutch Hospital is allowed. Do not sit a meal you will resent. One soda, ten minutes, move. Ordinary tiredness. Heat caution is a bottle, not a courtyard camp.

We paid one soda, cooled, left. Ate on Pedlar. Fine.

Pride refuses the soda on principle and then owns a tantrum in the sun.
