Map shows a short path. Public road. Walking in like a local, or is that someone else's estate road we should not treat as a trail.

Use the visitor drive and the visitor door. A workers' path is for people who work there. Walking in off a public road onto estate tracks is how you meet a watchman who is not a guide. Ask at the visitor desk. If they say walk from the gate, walk from the gate.

We used the drive. Watchman pointed at the visitor door. That was the whole story.

Do not follow a footpath just because Maps drew it.

Turned around when it got silly. Still a trip. Ordinary bags, ordinary answer.

If the gate is selling tickets, that is the desk. Ask twice if the first quote is theatre.

We did this last week. Ordinary. Fine. Same week, ordinary bags.

If leftover light is thin, sit the room you have. Jumper weather is the hint.
