For a night cortege, how dim should the phone screen be so we do not bother neighbours, but still bright enough to check the map. Not phone torch etiquette and not night-mode photography.

Drop brightness low and use dark mode for maps. A quick glance is fine; a bright face-up screen in a dense line draws complaints. Screenshot your pin while you still have light.

Keep the phone in a chest pocket between checks so it does not light the whole row.
