PickMe from Unawatuna after nine — app still finds a tuk or we walk to the Matara road in the leftover drizzle
19 Aug night, Unawatuna lane, drizzle. App is spinning. Walk to the main road with a kid or sit the guesthouse. Not trying to flag random dark corners.

Walk to the Matara road if the app is thin. PickMe still works on the main road more often than a Fort lane. Night is not a hunt down a path. Agree the pin in the light. Do not invent a curfew. Do not follow a driver who wants to 'come inside the lane for a special'. Ordinary drizzle.
If the app dies, a known guesthouse can call a driver. That is ordinary. A stranger at the beach gate is not.
We took the quieter fork on this: PickMe from Unawatuna after nine. Fine. No one clapped.
