Showers have hung over Kandy all morning and the forecast still names Kandy for showers at times today. Third Randoli is listed at 6:53 PM. Poncho or a compact umbrella for a long stand.

A thin poncho keeps both hands free for kids and a phone; fold the umbrella only if you have a doorway to duck into.

We used a compact umbrella last night and spent the whole stand managing it; tonight I am buying a poncho so I can hold the kids and still see.

If you already own a small travel umbrella, add a cheap poncho from a lake-side stall as backup when wind turns the umbrella inside out.
