Power blackout mid check-in while we were signing paperwork — wait in the dark lobby or come back later?
Hotel lobby went black while we were filling the registration card. Staff lit phone torches and said the generator would kick in. Do travelers wait it out with luggage in the dark lobby, or leave bags tagged and come back when lights return? Different from a room power-cut during a call — this is mid check-in paperwork.

Stay close if staff say the generator is starting — keep bags at your feet or ask to place them behind the desk, finish paperwork when light returns, and do not wander off with an unfinished registration. If the outage stretches and the area feels unsafe, move to a lit cafe nearby and return when staff call or message you. I will not invent a generator surcharge as gospel. Short waits are normal; abandoned half-checked bags in a dark lobby are not.
