I have a long flight and want to adjust quickly. Any specific advice for Sri Lanka?

Hydrate well on the flight. Upon arrival, try to stay awake until local evening even if tired. Get morning sunlight exposure as soon as possible. Light meals and avoiding heavy alcohol the first couple of days helps. Many people find the heat and humidity actually help with sleep once you're tired. If arriving from Europe or further west, the time difference isn't extreme. From the US or Australia it's more significant. Most people adjust within 2-3 days with good light exposure and routine.

Many guesthouses can arrange early check-in or a quiet room if you're arriving exhausted. Don't over-schedule the first day or two.
