Procession is gone - is the lake walk actually empty yet or still a human river
9.12 on the Queen's side. Last torch line went toward the Maligawa maybe fifteen minutes ago. Partner wants to "do the lake now it's empty." It is not empty. It is slower, wetter, and everyone is walking the same way. Is this the bit where the circuit is done and the lake is a promenade again or are we about to walk into the leftover crush.

The procession being home is not the same as the lake being empty. Dalada / the lake wall stay a pedestrian river while police unwind the 1.27 km loop. If you want a quiet circuit, that is tomorrow morning, not 9.12. Walk inland one block if you want air. Do not treat the lake wall as a newly opened promenade.
Last night we tried the "empty lake" idea at 9. The wall was still people, plastic chairs, and coconut husks. Ten minutes inland and we could hear ourselves.
They unwind street by street after the last torch is in. If you can still see tape or a uniform on the kerb, it is not a promenade. Season hotline 081 22 33 333 if someone in the group is actually stuck.
