Public playgrounds (parks in Colombo, Kandy, Galle) vary widely. Newer parks (Independence Square, Diyatha Uyana) have modern EU-standard equipment. Older parks may have basic swings and slides in need of maintenance. Rural playgrounds often improvised.

Best playgrounds: Viharamahadevi Park (Colombo, large, well-maintained), Diyatha Uyana (lakeside, family-friendly), Independence Square (evenings). Bring: hand sanitizer, small first-aid kit for typical scrapes. Weekend afternoons very busy with local families — magical if you want cultural interaction.
