Want a quiet Anuradhapura day before we head back toward the hills. After festival crowds, is a slow sacred-city circuit still peaceful midweek, or do day buses from Kandy already refill the main stupas.

Start at opening and keep the circuit short. Bicycle or walk between nearby sites; a full tuk marathon feels louder than the ruins deserve.

Skip stacking Polonnaruwa the same day. One calm Anuradhapura loop beats two rushed ancient cities.

Carry water and cover shoulders. Quiet is early light plus pacing, not a secret entrance.
