I want peaceful spots to sit quietly. Any recommendations that aren't big tourist temples or retreats?

Many smaller temples and Buddhist sites have quiet corners or gardens where you can sit peacefully, especially outside of puja times. Some guesthouses have meditation spaces or quiet gardens. Reservoir edges, certain beaches early morning, and quiet viewpoints can also work well. Some older colonial-era cemeteries or botanical garden corners offer unexpected peace. The key is going at off-peak times and being respectful. Many travelers find their own quiet spots just by exploring gently.

Early morning at smaller local temples or by a quiet tank can be incredibly peaceful. Just be respectful of any ongoing religious activities.
