If rain starts mid-parade during First Randoli, should we duck into a shop doorway without blocking dancers, or tough it out under a shared umbrella. Not umbrella etiquette when the cortege passes as a general rule.

A shop doorway is fine if the keeper agrees and you stay clear of dancers and the lane. Do not form a tourist cluster in the opening. A lowered shared umbrella on the curb also works if you keep it down when performers are in front.

A thin poncho bought earlier beats fighting for doorway space once rain hits mid-pass.

Ask once, accept no, and step back. Blocking a doorway during the pass is how you get moved on.
