I'm interested in traditional healing. Is there a respectful way to engage with practitioners?

Traditional healing is a living practice for many Sri Lankans. The most respectful approach is through qualified Ayurvedic doctors or practitioners who are open to sharing knowledge in appropriate contexts. Some offer consultations or short educational sessions. Approaching with genuine respect and interest, rather than as a tourist experience, makes a difference. Some practitioners are open to sharing when the interest is sincere and respectful of traditional knowledge. Many prefer to work within their communities. The best engagement often comes through qualified practitioners or cultural/educational settings rather than casual tourism.
