I'm interested in traditional medicine and healing. Is there a respectful way to engage with this?

Traditional healing is a living practice for many Sri Lankans. The most respectful approach is through qualified Ayurvedic doctors or practitioners who are open to sharing knowledge. Some offer consultations or short educational sessions. Observing private healing rituals without invitation is not appropriate. Some cultural or educational centers may offer talks or demonstrations on traditional practices. Approaching with genuine curiosity and respect, rather than as a tourist spectacle, makes a difference. Many practitioners are happy to share when the interest is sincere.

The line between genuine interest and voyeurism matters. Qualified practitioners who choose to share are the appropriate channel.
