Eat the rice plate if you want lunch. The guesthouse desk menu is a menu. Nobody is scamming you; they are pricing a room with a view. A local plate toward Gangaramaya door is ordinary. Ask how spicy, then eat. Do not occupy a terrace for email over a 900-rupee feeling.
