Rust-colored water from the hotel shower after a water cut — bathe anyway or ask to move rooms?
Hill hotel after a daytime water cut. First shower run came out rust-brown and metallic smelling. Not asking about brushing teeth on tap water — we already use bottled for that. This is about bathing and hair. Do travelers run it clear and shower, or is rusty tank water a reason to request another room?

After a cut, the first flush from pipes or a roof tank often runs rusty from stirred sediment. Run the shower until it clears — often a few minutes — before you stand under it. If it stays brown, smells strongly of metal, or stains towels, tell the desk and ask them to flush the line or move you. I will not invent a water-quality fine. Bathing in briefly discolored water that clears is common; bathing in ongoing rust sludge is a fair complaint. Keep bottled water for mouths either way.
Told desk the tank looked stirred. They moved us to a wing on a different line.
