Accepted Answer

NO FLASH (spooks elephants — safety hazard for crowds), NO DRONES (banned within radius). Handheld only. High ISO essential (dusk to night processions). Tripod possible at grandstand seats but not in street crowd.

Elephants are ritually important — treat as living beings, not props. Never touch, feed, or approach on street. Best shots: elevated grandstand seat, 70-200mm zoom for compression, ISO 3200-6400 for handheld action. Some photographers use monopod acceptably.
