Thinking of a short scooter rental. What insurance and license paperwork do shops actually ask tourists for in practice, and what gets people turned away at the counter.

Expect passport, a valid license shops accept, and their rental form. International permit questions vary — ask the shop before you travel across town.

Photograph the scooter and note existing scratches before you pay. Insurance talk means nothing without that record.

Helmet for you and the pillion is non-negotiable. Shops that shrug at helmets are the wrong shops.
