Yes, take the hiking path towards Kithal Ella waterfall. It is tucked into the jungle right off the railway tracks before the main ascent to Ella Rock. Because it requires a short hike through the bush, tour buses cannot get there. The pool at the base is very calm during the dry season and usually completely empty, making it a perfect adventure swim.

No, do not cliff jump anywhere in Ella. The rocks are jagged and hidden just below the surface.
