21 Aug, two of us, daypacks, no balcony budget. We want a sit. Slave Island short eat looks priced like a postcard. Union Place has a local queue.

Walk two minutes if you can. Steam or walk; ordinary Colombo. Nobody is scamming you at Slave Island short eat; they are pricing for the terrace. I will not invent a cover charge. One drink if you want the photo, then leave.

We paid one soda, cooled, left toward Union Place. Fine. Occupying shade with a bottle you brought is the rude version.

Closed shoes at short eat. Sandals after leftover rain is how you meet the clinic. Walk the inside lane.

Leave a buffer. Agree the fare before you sit. Do not cut it to twenty minutes at Slave Island short eat and then argue in a jam.

If it is steaming at short eat, sit. If not, pack fruit and walk to Union Place. Biscuits in the bag anyway. The wait is the hungry part.
