Temple, kovil, mosque: cover shoulders and knees. Galle Fort street is mixed. Inside is not. Shawl in the bag. Hats off, shoes on the rack.

If you are tired, stay near the bus stand or town centre in Galle Fort and skip the extra viewpoint. Pull cash in Colombo, Kandy, or Galle first. Cards are a maybe, not a plan.
