Temple, kovil, mosque: cover shoulders and knees. Ratnapura street is mixed. Inside is not. Shawl in the bag. Hats off, shoes on the rack.

If you are tired, stay near the bus stand or town centre in Ratnapura and skip the extra viewpoint. Pull cash in Colombo, Kandy, or Galle first. Cards are a maybe, not a plan.
