Airport SIM prices are FAIR now (regulated). Dialog Traveller and Mobitel Tourist SIMs at CMB arrivals hall are the same price as anywhere else - around 1500-2500 LKR for 30 days with 15-50GB data. Not inflated. Grabbing at airport = your phone works immediately, no downtime. Colombo shops sell same SIMs, slightly cheaper packages sometimes, but you'll spend a taxi fare + 30 min to save 500 LKR. Not worth it. Airport is fine.
^ agree. Just bring an unlocked phone and your passport (they scan it for registration). Dialog has better rural coverage; Mobitel has slightly better city 5G. Either works. Set up in 10 minutes at the counter.
