Slow travel approach - best places to base yourself for 2-3 weeks in one spot?
I want to stay in one place for a longer period rather than moving constantly. Any recommendations for good bases?

Galle Fort or Unawatuna area works well for longer stays — good mix of culture, beach, food, and services. Ella is popular for a slower hill country pace with nice cafes and walks. Ahangama or Weligama for a surf/beach vibe with co-working options. Some people base in Kandy for cultural access and then do short trips from there. The best base depends on your interests, but places with good infrastructure, walkability or easy transport, and a mix of things to do without needing to move constantly tend to work well for slow travel.
Many long-stay visitors choose one south coast town and one hill country spot and split their time. It gives variety without constant packing.
Galle Fort or Ella for a longer base sounds ideal. Will decide based on vibe preference.
