Small hill town nearly out of baby formula and nappies — wait for the next delivery or hire down to Kandy?

Staying three more nights above Bandarawela with an eight-month-old. Pharmacy shelf has one dented tin of a brand we do not use and a single small nappy pack in the wrong size. Shopkeeper says a van comes maybe tomorrow. I can make tonight work. I am nervous about stretching brands or sizes for days. Do parents usually hire a car down to a bigger town the same day, or is waiting on the hill delivery actually reliable?

If you are already on the last usable tin and the wrong-size nappies, do not gamble three nights on a maybe van. A same-day hire or bus down to a larger town pharmacy is the boring reliable move. Switching brands suddenly can upset some babies; stretching a size can mean leaks and a miserable night. I will not invent a fixed delivery schedule as gospel. Call a Kandy or Badulla pharmacy first to confirm stock, then go. Keep the dented tin as backup only.

Hired down, bought two tins and the right size. Van tomorrow became three days later according to the shop.
