Elderly relative needs a soft banana during the long wait more than spicy snacks. Mini-mart late afternoon. Not sealed cracker packs for kids, and not a cut fruit cup framed as a lunch dessert.

A soft ripe banana from a mini-mart is a gentle elder snack during long waits — pack a napkin and a small bag for the peel.
