Heading toward the south-west coast tomorrow and got Amber alerts. Is that mainly for fishing boats / naval craft, or should we also skip swimming.

Advisory covers rough seas and strong gusts for sea areas through Sunday morning - treat swimming and small craft as caution, not a beach picnic day.

Waves noted around 2-2.5 m on exposed stretches via Colombo-Galle-Matara. Fort walls are for viewing, not for testing surf.
