Kids handheld is low and will matter during long waits. Where to buy spare AA batteries mid-afternoon without a big supermarket run. Not sticker sheets, and not coloring books for curb waiting.

Mini-marts and phone shops often stock AA packs mid-afternoon — check the date on the pack and test one battery in the room.

Keep spares in a small zip pouch so they do not rattle loose.
