Affordable Colombo spa options under USD 50: (1) Spa Ceylon (multiple branches - Kollupitiya, Cinnamon Gardens, Bambalapitiya) - Ayurvedic-inspired treatments 3000-6000 LKR (~USD 10-20), beautiful spaces, product-focused brand. (2) Barberyn Ayurveda Colombo (retail store + treatment rooms) - authentic Ayurveda 60-90 min from 4500-7500 LKR. (3) Angsana Spa at Cinnamon Lakeside - hotel spa with walk-in rates 8000-15000 LKR. (4) The Spa at Kingsbury - similar hotel spa mid-range. (5) O! Spa Colombo (Kollupitiya) - boutique smaller, personalized service, USD 15-40 per treatment. For best value + real quality: Spa Ceylon Kollupitiya branch. 90-min head/foot/back combo around USD 25. Not the same as Barberyn's medical Ayurveda but real relaxation.

Warning: skip any spa advertising 'sensual massage' or with a suspicious website - those are not legit spas. Stick to established brands (Spa Ceylon, hotel spas, established boutique). Book ahead on weekends - popular slots (5-8pm) fill fast. Tip 200-500 LKR for the therapist if service was good - it's not included in the sticker price.

Also: many mid-range hotels (Ozo, Cinnamon Red, Marino Beach) have their own spa treatments open to non-guests at 30-50% below top-tier prices. Just walk in and ask for rate list. Some Colombo neighborhood 'body salons' offer excellent 1-hour Ayurvedic head massage for LKR 2000-4000 (~USD 6-13) - very local, less polished but genuinely good. Ask your hotel concierge for a trusted local recommendation.
