Available brands: Winsor & Newton watercolors + oils, Faber-Castell, Sennelier, Reeves, Sakura, Copic markers. Imported: 20-40% above Western prices. Local paper (some Sri Lankan handmade watercolor paper) unique + affordable.

Also: some paintings shops sell traditional pigments + natural dyes (indigo, madder root, turmeric) if interested in natural materials + traditional techniques. Handunugoda area + Kandy have artisan pigment makers. Fascinating cultural experience.

For specialty items: bring from home if you need specific brand/type (Golden Acrylics, Pentel Pocket Brush, high-end Kolinsky sable brushes). Sri Lanka has good general selection but limited premium specialties. Check ahead if traveling from where art supplies are cheaper.

Sri Lankan handmade paper: some artisans make watercolor + drawing paper from local plant fibers. Wenugam Handloom Paper (Nuwara Eliya area) sells beautiful handmade paper. USD 3-15 per sheet. Unique to Sri Lanka, gorgeous natural texture.
