Widely available in Sri Lanka: Nestle brands (Nan Pro, Nan Optipro - most common), Similac (Abbott), Enfamil (Mead Johnson) - stocked at Cargills, Keells, Arpico supermarkets. Ready-to-feed less common - powder standard. Baby food jars: Gerber + Milupa available at larger Cargills and Arpico. Selection more limited than Western supermarkets (fewer varieties per brand). Bring: 2-week supply of your baby's specific formula/food from home in case of specific brand preference. Purchase locally for extended trip.

Colombo pharmacies (Osu Sala, Union Chemists, Healthguard) carry specialty baby formulas (lactose-free, hypoallergenic - Nutramigen, Neocate) but limited stock. Call ahead if your baby needs specialty. Nawaloka Hospital pharmacy has medical-grade formulas.

Currently using Similac Advance 3 - relieved to hear it's available. Bringing 2 weeks supply anyway plus water bottles for peace of mind. Also good tip on Nawaloka pharmacy for backup. Landing December 15 - excited if a bit anxious.

Practical: bring formula in original sealed containers, save receipts for customs. Sri Lankan customs typically OK with baby formula for personal use. Check destination customs (US bringing back Sri Lankan formulas usually not allowed if unopened - opened OK).

Water: use bottled water (never tap) for mixing formula. Boil first if possible + let cool. Filtered bottled water (Nestle Pure Life brand widely available) safest. Diaper availability excellent (Pampers, Huggies at supermarkets, LKR 1500-3500 per pack).
