Question: does British Council Colombo have a foreign teacher hiring cycle? Considering CELTA certification specifically for Sri Lanka teaching. Also wondering if 4-6 month volunteer teaching stint via NGO would work as visa-legitimate entry point.

Visa reality: teaching English in Sri Lanka on tourist ETA is technically not allowed. Legitimate work requires: employer sponsorship for work permit OR business visa for independent teaching. Many teachers work informally on extended tourist visas but face legal risk. Best: get sponsorship from established employer.
