Negombo: catamaran-style traditional fishing + modern sport fishing charters (marlin, sailfish season Nov-April, tuna year-round). Sri Lanka Sport Fishing (Negombo) is established operator. Half-day charter USD 200-400, full-day USD 400-800 including gear. Trincomalee: sport fishing May-Sept season, similar quotes, historically less developed but growing. For year-round accessibility + established operators: Negombo. For specific east coast species (bigger blue marlin sometimes): Trinco season.

Also: Kalpitiya has flat-water fishing (lagoon) for barracuda, jacks. Different style. For serious offshore sport fishing: Negombo in season is the pick. Book with a specific operator by name to check reputation - not through a random middleman.
