Sri Lanka Balloon (Sun Rise Ballooning is the main operator) flies over Sigiriya-Dambulla area November-April only (dry season, thermal permitting). Cost 2026: USD 220-280 per person for 45-min flight + champagne breakfast, minimum group 4. Flight time: 5:30am launch, sunrise over the rock landscape. Book direct at srilankaballoon.com 1-2 months ahead - flights book out in peak Dec-Feb. Cancellation for weather is common - don't book on last day of trip.
Also: some hotels (Aliya Resort, Sigiriya Village) package the balloon into stay deals with 5-10% discount. Ask when booking accommodation. Don't book on your last day - if weather cancels you lose the experience. Book with a buffer day.
