Colombo kids activities: (1) Diyatha Uyana (Battaramulla - lakeside park, playgrounds, food court, weekend market - excellent family day). (2) Viharamahadevi Park (central Colombo - large park with kids' play zones). (3) Dehiwala Zoo (National Zoological Gardens - controversial ethically but kids love). (4) Kids' zone at Colombo City Centre / One Galle Face mall (climbing walls, arcade). (5) National Museum (surprisingly good for kids 8+). (6) Turtle Cove Aquarium (interactive tank experiences). (7) Trace Expert City weekend market vibe. Skip Dehiwala Zoo if you're concerned about animal welfare - conditions are dated.
Also: Mount Lavinia beach (30 min south of Colombo - safe swimming, food shacks, kids-friendly hotels for weekend). And Cricket ground viewing on match days (SSC or Premadasa) - kids get exposure to the cricket-mad culture.
