(5) Some fishing village restaurants Negombo, Chilaw. Sri Lankan lagoon crab is world-class quality. Question: is Ministry of Crab really worth the premium over traditional village versions? Or am I paying mostly for setting + reputation vs quality of crab itself?

Ministry of Crab is the standout experience - Colombo Dutch Hospital Precinct, book 2-4 weeks ahead. Signature 'Kilo Crab' set-price. Weight-based pricing (biggest crab you can afford + share). Restaurant of the year winner multiple times.

For authentic village-style: some fishing villages near Negombo have small restaurants serving fresh-caught crab in traditional preparations. Ask fishermen at Negombo fish market for recommendations. USD 10-30 per meal. Unpretentious but authentic.
