Colombo Marathon (September) is the biggest - full marathon, half, and 10k options. Route through Colombo city + coastal road. Also: Galle Marathon (February - flat coastal course), Kandy Marathon (May - hilly), and specialty runs like the Trail of the Ancient Kings (multi-day trail race). Cost: USD 50-100 registration. Register 2-3 months ahead. October Colombo is warm and humid - train for heat if coming from cold climate.

Also: Ultra runners look at the Sri Lanka Ultramarathon (100km along tea estate trails) which is a challenging trail ultra. Serious runners only. Contact organizers directly for slots.
