Ramayana Trail circuit: Ravana's Palace ruins at Sigiriya area, Sita Amman Temple (Seetha Eliya near Nuwara Eliya - where Sita was held), Ravana Falls (near Ella), Ravana Cave (Ella - where Ravana hid Sita), Divurumpola (Welimada - Sita's fire ordeal site), Ashok Vatika (Hakgala Botanical Gardens - garden where Sita was kept), Munneswaram Temple (Chilaw - Rama worshipped Shiva here after killing Ravana). Full circuit is 5-7 days with a specialist guide. Sri Lanka Tourism has an official 'Ramayana Trail' route map.
Book with a Ramayana-specialist tour operator (Ceylon Roots, Aitken Spence Ramayana tours) - they include priestly explanations and prasadam. Great for Indian visitors especially. Cost USD 200-350/day per person for guided 5-day trail with hotels included.
