Heading to Sarath's Antiquarian first Thursday morning + Kandy antique quarter next week. Also attending Colombo Book Fair if timing works. This is my dream trip - Ceylon colonial-era history books at ridiculous prices vs UK dealer markups.

Also worth: some Kandy antique dealers stock Kandyan Kingdom-era publications + Buddhist scholarly works. Different focus than Colombo colonial-era stock. Combined visit both cities for full Sri Lankan antique book experience.

For Sri Lankan cultural depth: pre-independence Ceylon publications, missionary press works, colonial botanical + zoological books, early Sinhalese newspapers bound. Real historical value + reasonable prices vs international rare book markets.

Ola leaf manuscripts (traditional palm-leaf writing) - Sri Lanka's most unique antiquarian item. National Museum has extensive collection. Some private dealers, but export restricted (cultural heritage laws). Photographs + certificates alternative for collectors.
