Sri Lanka best sunrise yoga beach location - Ahangama Mirissa?

Best sunrise yoga beach spots: (1) Hiriketiya Bay (small crescent, sheltered, sun rises over headland). (2) Ahangama beach at Verse Collective (dawn yoga on the sand). (3) Mirissa Coconut Tree Hill viewpoint (yoga on the promontory at dawn). (4) Talalla beach (long empty beach, Talalla Retreat). (5) Weligama Bay (calmer sunrise). (6) Nilaveli east coast (sunrise DIRECTLY over ocean - different photo angle). For guided sessions: book at Verse Collective, Bhavana Villa, Ceylon Sliders, Bar Fly. USD 10-20 drop-in class.
Just tried Verse Collective dawn class yesterday. Highlight of my trip so far - about 30 people on the beach, teacher was Sri Lankan trained in Rishikesh, incredible energy. Continuing to Talalla next week to compare!
Practical: dawn is 5:45-6:15am Sri Lanka. Wake 5am, be on mat by 5:45. Bring water + bug repellent (mosquitoes worst at dawn/dusk). Wear layers - sea breeze can be cool. Class after sunrise (6:30-7:30am) often better - warmer + still magical.
Also: Trincomalee/Nilaveli east coast is unique for beach sunrise yoga - sun rises over ocean not land. Very different quality vs south coast (where sun rises over hills behind beach). Photographers particularly value east coast dawn.
