Downloading PickMe + Google Translate offline pack + XE Currency before I fly. Also getting WhatsApp set up with my international number since so many bookings happen via WhatsApp. Good essentials list.

For photography enthusiasts: PhotoPills (sunrise/sunset/moon planning), Windy for atmospheric conditions, Alltrails for hiking routes. Nothing Sri Lanka-specific but universally useful for landscape work.

Also: Foody or UberEats for food delivery (Colombo mainly). Kapruka + Wow.lk for local e-commerce if you're staying long. Sri Lanka Tourism official app has festival calendar + emergency contacts. Battery pack essential - some rural areas have power cuts.
