WhatsApp booking etiquette Sri Lanka: (1) Greet with 'Ayubowan' or hello + brief intro before request. (2) Business messages typically expected between 8am-9pm. (3) Response times 2-24 hours normal (not instant expected). (4) Payment: 25-50% deposit standard for bookings via bank transfer, cash on arrival for balance. Never pay 100% before service. (5) 'Voice note' messages are common - be ready to hear/send if needed. (6) Screenshots of confirmations are your paper trail - save them. (7) Politeness matters more than efficiency - Sri Lankan business culture is relational. (8) Emojis fine, informal fine, but respect.

Also: many small operators only communicate via WhatsApp (not email). Expect this. Set profile to show as available on WhatsApp before you fly - some operators only respond when they see you're 'online'. If you get no response after 24-48 hours, follow up ONCE politely - not more (perceived as pushy). Sri Lankan digital culture is relationship-first.
