(2) Some individual master carvers still practicing (Sarath's Workshop, others - contact via handicrafts board). (3) Kandy Central Market has some vendors selling workshop-made pieces. (4) Traditional wood types: satinwood (highly valued, government controlled), jackwood, mahogany, ebony. Traditional carvings: Buddha statues (requires Sri Lankan permit for large export), elephants (iconic), traditional masks (Ambalangoda origin), decorative panels. Real workshop pieces USD 30-500+ depending on wood + size.

Legal note: Buddha statues + wood exports have specific rules. Small carvings (under 30cm) generally OK. Large Buddha exports controlled. Get certificate at purchase - workshop provides. Custom declaration at destination varies (some countries restrict religious imagery imports).
