Sri Lanka domestic flights - Cinnamon Air or FitsAir which better?
3 Answers from travellers
Cinnamon Air is the established domestic scheduled airline (Cessna 208 Grand Caravan, small planes). Regular Colombo-Jaffna (Ratmalana-Palaly) route, 35-min flight, USD 120-250 one-way. Reliable schedule. FitsAir has broader routes (also operates internationally) and some domestic. For domestic short hops: Cinnamon Air is standard. Book at cinnamonair.com. Also serves Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Weerawila (Yala area). Small planes = weather-sensitive cancellations.
Also worth: Helitours (military-affiliated) sometimes runs helicopter charters. For most travelers: Cinnamon Air scheduled flights. Book 2-4 weeks ahead in peak season. Small aircraft mean strict luggage weight limits - check before packing (usually 15kg checked).
