Plain hopper: bowl-shaped rice flour + coconut milk pancake, crispy edges, soft center, eaten with sambols and dhal - the vehicle for sauces. Egg hopper: same base but with a raw egg cracked in center as batter cooks, then covered - egg semi-poaches inside the bowl.

Egg hopper is 'complete breakfast' (carb + protein + sambol accompaniments); plain hopper is a side/vehicle. For your one hopper meal: egg hopper. For a variety plate: 2 plain + 1 egg + string hopper + dhal + sambols = full spread.

Order 3-4 to share for two people: 2 egg + 2 plain, with dhal + pol sambol + seeni sambol + lunu miris. Also try 'kithul hopper' if available (sweet - honey drizzled) as dessert.
