Sri Lanka Galle Literary Festival - annual return in 2027?
3 Answers from travellers
Galle Literary Festival (GLF) held January every year in Galle Fort - typically late January. Major international authors, panel discussions, book launches, evening events, all set inside Galle Fort's colonial-era venues. Tickets: day passes ~5000 LKR, festival passes ~15000-25000 LKR. Book 2-3 months ahead. Combines beautifully with south coast beach stay. Website: galleliteraryfestival.com for dates and lineup. Book Galle Fort accommodation early - fills fast.
Also: Fairway Galle Literary Festival is a different, more informal writer-gathering week. Different from GLF. Check which one you want. GLF is the big established one. Attend both if timing works.
