Sri Lanka luxury travel daily cost - what am I actually spending?
3 Answers from travellers
True luxury 2026: 5-star heritage/boutique hotels (Cape Weligama, Ceylon Tea Trails, Amanwella, Amangalla) $500-900/night, private chauffeur car + fuel $120-200/day, fine-dining meals $80-150 per meal per person, activities (private safari, hot air balloon, luxury spa) $100-300/day, incidentals $50-100/day. Per person per day: $650-1000 in genuine top-tier. For 10 nights luxury for a couple: $12,000-18,000 all-in ex flights. Add 10-15% for tips and drinks.
Where to splurge: 2 nights at Ceylon Tea Trails ($800-1200/night per couple), 3 nights Cape Weligama in a Cliff Villa ($1500-2000/night), 2 nights Amanwella. Balance with 3 nights at a boutique like Fort Bazaar. Chauffeur for entire trip. Book 4-6 months ahead in high season.
