Sri Lanka meditation retreat 10 day - which monastery?
3 Answers from travellers
Top options: Dhamma Kuta (Vipassana in the S. N. Goenka tradition - free 10-day silent retreats, apply online at kuta.dhamma.org, book 3-6 months ahead), Nilambe Meditation Center (Kandy area, Buddhist meditation, quieter, longer stays allowed), Na Uyana Aranya (forest monastery near Melsiripura - traditional Theravada practice, need Sinhala helpful). Dhamma Kuta is the easiest access for foreigners - donation-based (donate what you can afford), all meals + accommodation.
For a less-intense entry: Bhavana Villa (Weligama), Ulpotha - both have shorter yoga+meditation retreat formats, more accessible for beginners. If you're specifically wanting 10-day Vipassana Goenka style: Dhamma Kuta is it.
